Street Pastors? Me?

As a church we’ve supported Street Pastors in Maidstone since it began as part of the HOPEO8 initiative.  Over the years a number of our folk have served on the Interview panel and as Prayer Pastors and Street Pastors, and we still have some involved in that way today.  Hats off to all those who have got involved in serving in this way.  However, we hear that there is now a great need for new prayer pastors and street pastors if the ministry is to continue to be effective.  Please could we all be praying for Street Pastors, and do consider whether the Lord might be calling you to this kind of ministry.  Remember, stepping out in faith can be the start of a whole new adventure!

Don’t miss it!

We look forward to a special event on the evening of Friday 29th September, when ABC will be hosting world class comedy magician, John Archer, the first magician to fool Penn and Teller on their tv show.  It promises to be a fantastic show, which will include John’s testimony of Christian faith.  Do keep the date clear and be thinking about who you might invite!

Quiz Night at ABC!

Come and join us for a Quiz Night at ABC on Friday 19th May from 7-9pm.  Bring a team, or come and join a table.  Light refreshments provided.  No charge.  Come along and put those little grey cells to the test!

What a Week! MBW2017

What a fantastic week’s ministry we had at this year’s Maidstone Bible Week! Paul Mallard spoke on Suffering, Grace and Glory from the Psalms, and his ministry was quite simply outstanding.  If you didn’t get along you missed a real feast – do get the ministry recordings for a real blessing from God’s Word.  Down to earth, humorous but profoundly biblical, this was preaching and teaching not to be missed.  Paul’s books, ‘Invest Your Suffering’ and ‘Staying Fresh: Serving with Joy’ are well worth picking up also.  And well done to the ABC band for leading so well on the last night (and also all the other bands on previous nights).  The combined worship, teaching and fellowship was a great blessing.  Next year’s speaker is Chris Wright, Director of the Langham Partnership, a close associate of John Stott and the author of many helpful books.  So do leave the second full week in May 2018 free.  See you there, God willing.
