Brilliant Comedy Magician John Archer will be appearing at Allington Baptist Church on Friday 2
9th September and sharing his Christian testimony as part of his act. John Archer was the first man to fool Penn & Teller in their ITV show, hosted by Jonathan Ross. He is a past winner of ‘The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year’ and has spent almost three decades entertaining audiences all over the World with regular tours to entertain British troops serving overseas. John Archer became a Christian when he started going out with a Christian girl at the age of 19, and was dragged along to church. He heard a lot of sermons and asked a lot of questions, and then met a guy at Art college who played in a Christian rock band in the 80s. This guy led him to faith, which came as a gradual process and then a point of decision. John’s faith in God is a relationship which makes sense to him. He now can’t imagine living without God in his life. He finds being on the road gives him a lot of time for prayer. John is a close friend with Christian comedian Tim Vine who he mat at Spring Harvest in 1994. He says that his Christian faith and values are not an issue on the comedy/magic circuit, but the same as any Christian would have dealing with situations in any job.
